Oil your scalp regularly.

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Hey FairFaxFans,

Tuesday is here, and FairFax are here too with the next installment in the Tuesday Tips weekly series!

Rain brings relief from the blazing hot climate during the summer season. With the arrival of monsoon people feel happy to see the back of the prickly summer heat.

But do you know that Monsoon is the season of bad hair days too. High level of humidity in the air gives rise to several hair problems, which means you need to take extra care of your hair during the rains.

Coconut oil is one of the best natural conditioners for hair. Coconut oil relaxes your mind & body, alleviates stress, & boosts mood. As stress leads to hair loss, oiling helps to control hair fall & boosts hair growth. Regular oil massages can reduce occurrence of split ends, nourish hair from the inside & keep hair looking gorgeous. Oiling not only helps in retaining the color of your hair, but also prevents hair fall/ bacterial infections. Oil application also reduces the risk of lice, treats dandruff & strengthens roots.

Oil your hair at night & shampoo it off the next morning. Your hair will be silky smooth without using a conditioner. Apply oil on your scalp & hair at night, each time you plan to shampoo the next morning. When oiling hair, don’t dump all the oil onto your head; make partitions in your hair, dip your fingers into the oil and gently apply onto scalp. Gently massage your scalp using your fingertips for 5-10 minutes. Or better still use a spray bottle for that easy, non-messy oil application.

Add 3 drops of FairFax to 2 spoonfuls of coconut oil/olive oil to make it even more effective in hair fall control. Keep it on overnight & wash in the morning with a mild shampoo. After shampoo, use 3 drops of FairFax in a liter of water as the last rinse. FairFax contains herbs that are known to control hair loss.

Do not let your hair get wet in the rain.

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Healthy hair does not just enhance your appearance but also boosts your confidence.

Hey FairFaxFans,

How’s everyone doing today? Tuesday is here, what does that mean? Yes, Tuesday Tip Day! So here comes the next hair care tip from FairFax from our weekly series Tuesday Tips!

Monsoon is the most loved season by almost everyone. Who doesn’t love the rains, the relief from summer heat, the romanticism of the pitter patter of drops, the hot tea with spicy pakoras on a rainy day or a nice cup of strong coffee with a book to go along. Raindrops bring a smile on everyone’s face & getting drenched may also be a part of that.

But do you know that getting your hair wet in the rain may damage your hair? Read on if you want to know how you can protect your hair during the monsoons.

Rain water is acidic (due to the atmospheric NOx, SOx and other gases) & loaded with dirt & pollutants (especially in the cities). These toxins come down with the rain & settle on your scalp/ hair. This makes your hair brittle, rough & prone to breakage. It may also cause various hair problems such as frizzy hair, hair fall, dandruff & itchy scalp. Therefore, it is recommended that you avoid getting your hair wet in the rain. Control that urge of going out in the rain to enjoy a rain dance. And if you can’t resist it, then make sure that you cover your hair with a water-proof hoodie, raincoat or an umbrella.

If you are out in the rain, try to keep your hair covered. But if it still gets wet, wash your hair with a mild shampoo & condition it as soon as you’re back home. This will help in removing the toxins & atmospheric pollutants that may have got deposited on your hair with the rain. And yes, don’t forget to use FairFax (both in oil & in water after shampoo). Have a fun & hair-damage-free monsoon! If you have your own Tuesday Tips, feel free to share with us in the comments below.

FairFax Hair Energizer- Avoid tying your hair tight

Avoid tying your tight, it may lead to hair fall.

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Hey FairFax Readers,

How’s everyone doing today? We hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. Tuesday is here, and FairFax are here too with the next hair care tip in our weekly series Tuesday Tips!

Now a days, everyone tries to look picture-perfect all the time. For most of us, summer means more braids, buns and ponytails to keep hair frizz-free & also to keep our cool. But did you know wearing a tight ponytail, especially for a long time can irritate your scalp & cause hair fall?

Yes, it’s true. Avoid using a super tight hair tie; because this can exert a lot of pressure on your hair that can cause hair to break. It may also irritate your scalp or cause headaches.

So literally, let your hair down once in a while (every other day if you can) so that your hair can get some relaxation. You can wear headbands so your hairs will not fall on to your face if that is an irritant. Instead of using rubber/ plastic or elastic bands, use the one made out of breathable fabric.

You can also give your hair a break with different styles. Try looser hair styles that will put little to no stress on your hair. Also, switch your ponytail from high to low & back, to avoid hair breakage.

Wash your hair only twice or thrice in a week.

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Hey FairFaxFans,

It is peak summer time & also the season for bad hair days, heat, sweat, dirt, pollution & irritation, & that means, you need to take extra care of your hair.

Tuesday is here, so are we with the next installment of Tuesday Tip, our weekly series. As you know, every week on Tuesday, FairFax post a hair care tip to help you keep your hair as healthy as possible.

Are you washing your hair too often?

A hair wash is so much more than just cleaning your hair: it’s like therapy for you. Put down the shampoo bottle! You don’t need to wash your hair as often as you think. Read on to find out why you should wash your hair less frequently than you actually do.

When your hair is damaged, you need to do a little bit extra to repair it. Do not wash your hair too often because every time you wash your hair it loses natural oils, causing more split ends, fading of the natural color of your hair. It also makes your hair & scalp dryer than before.

It is sweat that makes you feel the need to wash. If you’ve to go out to work in polluted areas then cover your hair or simply tie them up. This will prevent dust from getting into your hair. It is suggested that you wash your hair twice or thrice a week if your scalp is oily. If your scalp is normal to dry, try to wash it once or twice a week. Use FairFax after shampoo to keep oil, sebum & sweat at bay.

So, don’t forget to keep this hair tip in your mind when you reach out for the shampoo to wash your hair.

Use wide tooth comb to comb your hair - FairFax
Jun 04

Use wide-Tooth comb to comb your hair.

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

How’s everyone doing on this wonderful Tuesday?

Tuesday is here, what does that mean? Yes, Tuesday Tips! The latest edition of our weekly series is here. As you know, every week on Tuesday, FairFax post a hair care tip to help you keep your hair as healthy as possible.

Do you know that in addition to oiling, shampooing & conditioning, combing is also an integral part of any hair care routine?

When you comb your hair, the natural oils from your scalp are distributed over hair strands. Combing or brushing also encourages blood circulation in the scalp & boosts hair growth. Therefore, choosing the right comb is critical. Always use a wide toothed comb & be gentle while brushing/combing your hair.

Why is a wide toothed comb good for hair? Read on.

Wide toothed combs glide smoothly through your hair, without causing damage or breakage. They are suitable for all the types of hair. They also don’t hurt your scalp if you accidentally scratch it with the comb teeth. It will detangle your hair without the pain associated with pulls & knots.

So the Wide Toothed Comb – is your hair’s next best friend (after FairFax, ahem ahem!). It is gentle on the scalp, reduces hair breakage/ fall, detangles easily & reduces split ends.

Please note: Don’t over brush your hair. Brushing/combing your hair too much can cause frizz and breakage. Always comb your hair from roots to tips in gentle yet firm strokes. Don’t comb very wet hair. Pat dry hair & when hair is almost dry, comb away to glory.

Now that you are aware of the benefits of using a wide tooth comb, don’t forget to add this essential hair care accessory to your collection.

Never go to sleep with wet hair.

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Hey everyone,

Hope you are all having great summer!

Tuesday is here & we are here too with our weekly series: Tuesday Tip. As you know, every week on Tuesday, FairFax posts a hair care tip (or two) to help you keep your hair healthier, stronger & shinier.

It’s such a nice feeling to take a shower right before going to bed. Especially in this hot summer season. You feel refreshed & clean after a long tiring day, & it helps you sleep much better. But did you know that sleeping with wet hair may lead to hair breakage? Read on to know more.

Everyone is busy & there’s never enough time to do all that is necessary to take care of our hair. To avoid the morning rush, many of us prefer washing our hair at night. And then if you’re tired or don’t want to make a noise, you skip drying your hair.

Your habit of sleeping with wet hair may lead to hair breakage, hair damage & scalp infections. So what can you do?

1. Try to wash your hair earlier in the evening, so that it gets enough time to dry on it’s own before you hit the sack.

2. Wash hair in the mornings & then you won’t have to worry about wet hair in bed.

3. Wrap your hair with a soft cotton T shirt so it can dry quicker.

Hair is weaker when it is wet. Plus there’s a chance of infection in a wet scalp. And in the morning, it will give you hell when you try to style it. All this trouble isn’t worth the few minutes saved by skipping drying your hair.

Use blowers & styling tools on cool/heat settings.

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Hey FairFax Fans

Summers are fun, with time spent traveling & enjoying the leisurely breaks. But spending time outdoors (especially during the day) can be damaging for your hair. Read on if you want to know how you can protect your hair during summers.

It’s Tuesday again & it’s that day of the week when FairFax post the next installment of our weekly series: Tuesday Tips. As you know, every week on Tuesday, we post a hair care tip (or two) to help you keep your hair healthier & stronger than ever before.

Summer heat may cause a number of hair problems such as frizziness, damage, chlorine damage (if you go swimming in public pools), split ends, dry scalp & so on. The summers are hot enough already, don’t make things worse for your hair by overusing styling tools or blowers. Although styling tools & blowers are convenient & help you in achieving great hair styles, overusing them can cause hair fall, breakage, dryness, color fading & other hair problems.

Avoid hair dryers & other hair styling tools such as curlers/ straighteners. If necessary, use them on low/ cool settings only.

This will help you in retaining natural levels of moisture in your hair & scalp. Let your hair dry naturally & style your hair such that you don’t need to use heat on it.

If your hair is already damaged due to heat, use FairFax in coconut/ olive oil at night. Add 3 drops of FairFax to 2 spoonfuls of oil & apply this oil to your scalp & hair at night. Keep it on overnight & wash in the morning with a mild shampoo. After shampoo, use 3 drops of FairFax in a mug of water as the last rinse. FairFax will help you to repair damaged hair caused due to heat.

Boost your water intake for healthy, strong & shiny hair!

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Hello FairFaxFans!

How’s the week been treating you?

Tuesday is here & we’re here too with our weekly series, Tuesday Tip. As you know, every week on Tuesday, FairFax post a hair care tip (or two) for healthier, stronger hair.

Do comment below to tell us how the tips from previous weeks have helped you.

Did you know that proper hydration is essential not only for the overall health of your body but also for hair health in particular? We know that water makes up a major part of our body, but how does it affect our hair?

When your body is dehydrated, it functions less efficiently, and that can stall your hair growth & affect hair health.

If your hair has undergone chemical or heat treatments (rebonding/ straightening/ curling etc.), it is especially important to pay attention to hydration.

Hair that is subjected to chemicals or heat is likely to lose moisture faster, becoming dry, dull & damaged in the process. When hair lacks hydration, it may become thin, prone to breakage & could stop growing.

Drinking more water will help in…

– preventing hair loss;
– restoring hair moisture & natural shine;
– faster hair growth;
– reducing hair related issues such as breakage, hair fall &
– making hair stronger, healthier & shinier.

Increasing your water intake nurtures your body, keeps your scalp & hair healthy, & protects your hair from various environmental stresses! Staying hydrated can also improve our mood as drinking water can make us feel refreshed. So for a happier state of mind, drink away!

Hydration can also be achieved through drinks such as butter milk, fresh fruit/ juices, lemonades, milk/ tea/ coffee etc.

So what are the drinks & foods that help you stay cool during this hot summer? Comment below.
