They rule the runways, populate our Insta feeds & posh enough to wear on any occasion from a wedding to ritzy dinner event. This hairstyle is unique, chic and really stunning.  We call it – “The Four Strand Braid” hairstyle. And the best thing is that this hair style seems difficult & complicated but is quick & easy to style. Read on to learn how to DIY this look.

Comb your hair well to remove any knots before you begin.

Step 1: Gather up a section of hair at the crown of your head & divide it into four equal sections to make an easy normal four strand braid.

Step 2: To begin four strand braids, let’s just numbered it 1 to 4 from right to left. Cross 1 under 2 over 3 and under 4 again. Repeat the same steps for the second time but this time take a small section of hair from the right of your head and add it to the hair section no. 1. Cross it under no. 2, over no. 3 and of course under no. 4.

Step 3: Take a small section of hair from the left side of the head and cross it under no. 4 and combine it with hair section no. 3. So, on the right side it’s just the same. Add hair to the section no. 1 and cross it under and over.

Step 4: Now continue the same until you reach the nape of the neck and finish it in a normal four strand braid all the way down and secure the end with hair elastic.

Step 5: Now, take a small piece of hair from the tail of your braid and wrap it around the elastic. A bit of hairspray for hold & support (optional). That’s it – you’re done!

Braids are the perfect choice for almost every occasion whether you’re in the office, at school, in the gym, going for a casual brunch, date night or a wedding. This makes the hairdo more classy beautiful & feminine. “The Layered French Braid” is one such hairstyle. This hair style seems difficult & complicated but is quick & easy to style. Read on to learn how to DIY this look.

Comb your hair well to remove any knots before you begin.

Step 1: Gather up a section of hair at the crown of your head & divide it into three equal sections to make an easy normal French braid.

Step 2: Make a regular braid for 4 turns, then take a super thin section of hair from the outer left part, & combine with the braid. Let the rest of your hair to fall next to the braid.

Step 3: Do the same on the right side – take a super thin section of hair from the outer right part, & combine with the braid.

Step 4: Now continue the braid for another 2 turns then repeat step 2 and 3 where you add in French braid sections. Make the sections as large or as small as you like.

Step 5: Finish it in a normal French braid all the way down and secure the end with hair elastic. Now, take a small piece of hair from the tail of your braid and wrap it around the elastic.

Step 6: A bit of hairspray for hold & support (optional). That’s it – you’re done!

Double Lace Braid Bun

The air is filled with festivities. It’s time to bring out those gorgeous ethnic outfits. But having the right hairstyle that compliments your outfit is equally important. Check out the latest post of our weekly series: Saturday Style to look your best this festive season.

Classic styles never go out of style. Just like this enchanting yet simple hairstyle; “The Double Lace Braid Bun”. Read on to learn how to DIY this look.

Comb your hair to remove any knots before you begin.

Step 1: Make a side partition on the left side of your hair. Starting from the hairline, take a small portion of hair & divide into three parts leaving some hair at the front.

Step 2: To begin the braid, cross the right section over the middle section, take a bit of hair from the left side (to add to the section already created) & cross it over the middle section & create a simple lace braid.

Step 3: Continue the lace braid until it meets your ear and secure it with a few bobby pins at the back of your head.

Step 4: Now braid the section of hair to the bottom in a regular braid and tie the end with hair elastic.

Step 5: Similarly, create a second lace braid exactly behind the first braid. Take a small portion of hair & divide into three parts. Begin the braid, cross the right section over the middle section, take a bit of hair from the left side (to add to the section already created) & cross it over the middle section.

Step 6: Once the braid reaches the left ear, secure it with a few bobby pins at the back. Now braid the section of hair to the bottom in a regular braid by taking all the rest of the hair and tie the end with hair elastic.

Step 7: Wrap your braid into a bun & secure it with few bobby pins.

Step 8: A bit of hairspray for hold & support (optional). That’s it – you’re done!

Our team loves this hairstyle because it looks intricate but is quite simple to DIY. It only takes a few minutes & you can style this with straight, wavy or curly hair.

This ponytail has a distinctly funky yet elegant look that will make you feel at home at that edgy art gallery this weekend or while hanging out with friends. Read on to learn how to DIY this look.

Step 1: Brush your hair well to remove tangles if any.

This hairstyle is quite popular & trending right now. We call it the ‘Messy Bun Hawk’ which gives you an appealing & effortlessly fabulous look. It’s a great everyday hairstyle as it is simple & versatile. You can wear this hairstyle to outings, to the gym, or to just hang around at home, dinner with friends or a special occasion! It can be done on long as well as short hair & the best thing is that you don’t have to be a styling expert to achieve this look.

Step 1: Brush your hair well to remove tangles if any.

Step 2: Take a small section of hair from the front & secure it with hair elastic to create a small ponytail.

With delicious food at your beck & call or some catching up on precious ZZZ. Take that short road trip or watch the latest movie in the theaters. But don’t forget FairFax, for Saturday is also the time for our weekly series: Saturday Style.

This bohemian-chic braid gives you a pretty & effortlessly fabulous look. It’s a great everyday hairstyle perfect for dinner with friends or a romantic date! We call it Half-Up Pull Through Braid, & the best thing is that you don’t have to be a styling expert to achieve this look. Read on for an easy DIY.

Step 1: Brush your hair well to remove tangles if any.

Step 2: Take a small section of hair from the front and secure it with hair elastic to create a small ponytail. Clip it away for now.

Step 3: Take some more hair & secure a second small ponytail below the first one. Now take off the clip & divide the first ponytail into two parts.

Step 4: Take the two parts of the first ponytail – one on each side & under the second ponytail & clip them away again.

Step 5: Grab some hair from both sides. Take it together with the section of hair of the second ponytail & secure a new little ponytail with an elastic band. Repeat the same one more time.

Step 6: Now make one more ponytail, but this time do not add a new section of hair. Just join the two sections together taken from each side with a hair elastic. Let the rest of your hair flow down naturally.

Step 7: Now pull slightly at the sections of your braid to loosen it to get the final look. That’s it – you’re done!

Add a fun twist – we call it Half-Up High Ponytail – & you become irresistible. You don’t have to be a styling expert to achieve this look. Read on to learn how to DIY this look to get a Perfect Half-Up High Ponytail in just a few simple steps.
