Avoid over brushing/combing your hair

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Hey FairFaxFans,

How’s Tuesday treating you? Hope all’s well. Brighten up a boring Tuesday & make every day a great hair day. Just follow our simple hair care tips. Read on to know about today’s Tuesday Tip given by FairFax!

Do you know brushing/combing your hair stimulates the blood flow in your scalp? Yes, it’s true! The increased circulation provides more oxygen & nutrients, & helps to nourish hair roots/ promote hair growth. It also exfoliates dead skin cells & triggers production of scalp oils that keep your hair follicles moisturized, shiny & healthy.

But don’t over-do it. Excessive brushing/ combing can make your hair weaker & cause more hair breakage/ split ends. Too much brushing/ combing can cause friction & hair damage. Extra care is needed while combing colored hair as they are more prone to hair breakage. Therefore it’s best to brush/comb your hair just twice a day – once in the morning & then again in the evening.

Apple Cider Vinegar Nourishing Hair Mask

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Monday Mask

Hello FairFaxFans!

Hope you have had a fantastic & fabulous weekend full of fun & adventure. Happy Monday everyone! And what better way to start the new week with than a brand new post by FairFax from Monday Mask series.

Your scalp produces oils that keep your your hair roots & follicles moisturized & healthy. But for some people the oil productions goes into overdrive which makes their scalp oilier than required. This gives rise to problems such as itchy scalp & wet dandruff. On top of it, if the weather is humid, you may be left with a head full of oily hair even after shampooing. Frequent shampooing is not the remedy, as each hair wash strips your hair of beneficial oils as well. Go for natural & inexpensive homemade hair masks to deal with oily hair woes. These DIY masks can be made using ingredients from your own pantry.

This hair mask is incredibly effective in controlling scalp oils. You just have to invest a few minutes from your busy schedule in order to reap amazing benefits.

Today’s DIY mask is for an Oily Scalp. The main ingredients are: Apple cider vinegar & Lemon juice. This combination controls scalp oil, reduces dandruff by balancing the pH level of scalp & gives you voluminous, clean, shiny & beautiful hair.

Main benefits: Stop hair fall | Nourish your hair | Control dandruff | Restore natural pH balance | Make hair shiny, strong & thick.

Procedure: Take 2 tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar & add 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Mix well & apply this hair mask onto your scalp & hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap for 20-25 minutes & wash it off with cold/lukewarm water & a mild shampoo. Use this mask once a week for optimum benefits.

Since your scalp is on the oily side, you should use FairFax in water as the last rinse after shampoo. This will help in controlling scalp oil. FairFax will help in maintaining the pH balance of your scalp as well, which will help in controlling dandruff, promote hair growth & increase volume.

Do not step out with wet or oily hair

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Hey FairFaxFans,

How are you all doing on this fabulous Tuesday? After a hard day’s work yesterday, we hope you have made your peace with the work week. It is Tuesday & its time for the latest edition of our weekly series Tuesday Tips. Read on to know today’s valuable hair care tip by FairFax!

Who doesn’t want shiny, gorgeous hair? But for that you need to treat your hair with love & care. How you wash, dry & style your hair can seriously affect its health & appearance. Today’s tip is very easy to follow, but sometimes it is the easy things that are forgotten.

Do not step outside with wet or oily hair. Wet or oily hair will attract dirt, dust & other solid particles from the environment. This may result in frizz, damage, dandruff & hair breakage. Also, when wet hair is exposed to direct sunlight, there is more possibility of it getting damaged. So, before you step out in this humid weather, make sure that your hair is completely dry. Always pat-dry hair with a soft cotton towel by wrapping the towel around your hair. Do not rub hair with the towel as it may cause split ends & rough hair.
