Bottle Gourd -A boon for weak hair.

By Nirja Jaiswal | Food Friday , Hair Care Blog

Hey FairFax Enthusiasts,

Many of us don’t eat enough vegetables on a day to day basis. Between hectic schedules, rushed mealtimes & chocolate cravings, veggies just don’t manage to make their presence felt on the plate. Not only are vegetables good for your overall health, they can also help you keep your hair healthier. Today FairFax are here with one such (often maligned & much ignored) veggie. You definitely need to add this to your grocery list if you want to have healthy & glowing hair.

Bottle gourd / Lauki is considered as very nutritious, tasty, low in calories & the a very good SuperFood or Food For Hair. Also known as Ghia, Doodhi, Trumpet gourd & other such names, the humble bottle gourd can be a boon for those suffering from weak hair.

It has always been regarded as one of the healthiest veggies. It is rich in many nutrients like vitamins, betacarotene, antioxidants, phytonutrients, zinc, & dietary fibers, that provide nourishment to your hair roots, scalp & hair.

Eat lauki to keep your scalp healthy, make your hair strong & lustrous, & prevent your hair from becoming dry.

FairFax Hair Energizer- Avoid tying your hair tight

Avoid tying your tight, it may lead to hair fall.

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Hey FairFax Readers,

How’s everyone doing today? We hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. Tuesday is here, and FairFax are here too with the next hair care tip in our weekly series Tuesday Tips!

Now a days, everyone tries to look picture-perfect all the time. For most of us, summer means more braids, buns and ponytails to keep hair frizz-free & also to keep our cool. But did you know wearing a tight ponytail, especially for a long time can irritate your scalp & cause hair fall?

Yes, it’s true. Avoid using a super tight hair tie; because this can exert a lot of pressure on your hair that can cause hair to break. It may also irritate your scalp or cause headaches.

So literally, let your hair down once in a while (every other day if you can) so that your hair can get some relaxation. You can wear headbands so your hairs will not fall on to your face if that is an irritant. Instead of using rubber/ plastic or elastic bands, use the one made out of breathable fabric.

You can also give your hair a break with different styles. Try looser hair styles that will put little to no stress on your hair. Also, switch your ponytail from high to low & back, to avoid hair breakage.

FairFax Hair Energizer- Tuesday Tip
Jun 11

Wash your hair only twice or thrice in a week.

By Nirja Jaiswal | Hair Care Blog , Tuesday Tip

Hey FairFaxFans,

It is peak summer time & also the season for bad hair days, heat, sweat, dirt, pollution & irritation, & that means, you need to take extra care of your hair.

Tuesday is here, so are we with the next installment of Tuesday Tip, our weekly series. As you know, every week on Tuesday, FairFax post a hair care tip to help you keep your hair as healthy as possible.

Are you washing your hair too often?

A hair wash is so much more than just cleaning your hair: it’s like therapy for you. Put down the shampoo bottle! You don’t need to wash your hair as often as you think. Read on to find out why you should wash your hair less frequently than you actually do.

When your hair is damaged, you need to do a little bit extra to repair it. Do not wash your hair too often because every time you wash your hair it loses natural oils, causing more split ends, fading of the natural color of your hair. It also makes your hair & scalp dryer than before.

It is sweat that makes you feel the need to wash. If you’ve to go out to work in polluted areas then cover your hair or simply tie them up. This will prevent dust from getting into your hair. It is suggested that you wash your hair twice or thrice a week if your scalp is oily. If your scalp is normal to dry, try to wash it once or twice a week. Use FairFax after shampoo to keep oil, sebum & sweat at bay.

So, don’t forget to keep this hair tip in your mind when you reach out for the shampoo to wash your hair.

If you have any Tuesday Tips to share with us, feel free to mention them in the comments below.

You won’t believe how easy this hairdo is, & your friends won’t believe you did it yourself. All it takes is a little practice.

Follow these steps to achieve this look:

– Comb your hair first. Gather the top centre section of your hair & put an elastic band around it. This will form the central part of your braid.

– Take a section of your hair from each side of this central section & cross them over the middle part.

– Take a bit of hair from the left side (to add to the section already created) & cross it over the middle section.

– Now take some hair, combine them with the right section, cross it over the middle section and continue.

– Repeat these steps till you reach at the end of your neck. Bring the remaining hair around your shoulder and finish it with a regular braid.

– When you reach the end of your hair, secure it with an elastic band.

Once you master the French braid style, you can create a variation that is your own. So, why not give this fabulous hairdo a try?
